Les Portes du Soleil has no less than 650km of slopes, with various specials such as freestyle, jump or snowcross and of course do not forget the steepest black slope Le Mur!
Skiing in Switzerland, Avoriaz or in les Gets, it’s all possible from Châtel.
Châtel has a charming and authentic center with restaurants, cafes and nice shops with clothes or local products. The new swimming pool with sauna and wellness ‘Forme d’O’ is also recommended.
Both in winter and in summer there are various activities in the village; terraces, music, ice rink, carousel and of course the local market.
Summer holidays in the mountains are wonderful. In summer, the main lifts of Les Portes du Soleil are open to hikers and bicycles (MTB). With the Portes du Soleil Multipass, all lifts for hikers are free and many other activities are free or discounted. This makes it very easy to get to Morzine or Champery (Switzerland) in a day. There are many beautiful walks or hikes to be found in with amazing views from Mont Blanc to Lake Geneva. Mountain restaurants and Abondance cheese makers, culinary French cuisine you can enjoy in the summer.
For the adrenaline: MTB, Rock climbing, Via ferrata, Parapanics, Rafting, Canyoning or the Fantasticable belong on the list. For slightly quieter activities there are tennis courts, mini golf, golf, climbing park and the swimming pool. There are also several mountain lakes in the area and magnificent natural sites; for example, the Gorges de Pont de Diable.
